Profile selection

You choose one from the 10 profile areas. Within your chosen profile, you can specialize even further. At the end of your studies, your chosen profile will be shown on your certificate.
You make a binding choice of your profile by registering your first module exam in the corresponding profile area folder in HohCampus.

A profile area consists of:

  • Start of studies before WiSe 2021/2022: 5 elective modules with 6 credits each (total 30 credits)
  • Start of study from WiSe 2021/2022: 6 elective modules with 6 credits each (total 36 credits)

At least one of these must be a seminar module (profile or project seminar). When selecting modules, please note whether they are compulsory (P), compulsory elective (WP) or elective (W) modules. You must take the compulsory modules in your profile area. For the compulsory elective modules, you must observe the restrictions noted there and you can fill the rest of your profile area with elective modules.

Project Seminar Humboldt reloaded

Depending on what is offered, a Humboldt reloaded project can also be brought in as a profile seminar that can be credited in the profile area (module code: 5000-340). You may participate in more than one project. Each project may be counted only once. You can also get Humboldt reloaded projects credited in the free elective area.

How to plan my profile?

You have the possibility of individual study design. The study plan represents the ideal typical course. However, you can also distribute your desired modules over the semesters as you wish. This is especially practical if you want to do a semester abroad. The 5th semester is best suited for this (the so-called mobility window) and a recognition of foreign achievements of 24 credits in the free elective area.
