AACSB – International accreditation of our faculty

Since July 2025, the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences has been among the top six percent of all business schools worldwide, having been awarded the seal of quality by the renowned accreditation agency AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).

This award is the result of an intensive development process spanning several years. Our goal: to showcase international excellence in research and teaching, tap into new potential for cooperation, and actively shape the future of our faculty. AACSB accreditation underscores our commitment to meeting the highest quality standards in studies, teaching, and academic continuing education – for students, partner institutions, and society.

Benefits and added value of AACSB accreditation

AACSB accreditation is much more than a seal of quality – it stands for excellence, international networking and future-oriented development. For the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, it means:

  • Access to an exclusive global network: Admission to the circle of the world's best business schools – with intensive exchange opportunities on an equal footing.
  • New research and teaching collaborations: International partnerships and joint projects are actively promoted and facilitated.
  • Milestone for internationalisation: Strengthening the international visibility and attractiveness of the faculty and the entire university.
  • Competitive advantages for our students: Greater recognition among universities and employers – both regionally and globally.
  • Quality assurance and further development: Continuous optimisation of studies, teaching, research and knowledge transfer through structured processes and feedback systems.
  • Strengthening societal impact: Scientific findings are increasingly being applied in business, society and politics.
  • Positioning as a thought leader: The visibility and influence of one's own research in the academic world and beyond are strengthened.

Making learning success measurable – Assurance of Learning at the faculty

Assurance of Learning (AoL) is a central component of AACSB accreditation and complements the established quality management system of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences in the area of study and teaching.

AoL stands for a systematic and continuous process that we use to ensure that our students achieve the defined learning expectations of their respective degree programmes. In this way, we create transparency about learning success, identify potential for improvement and specifically strengthen the quality of teaching and studies – in the sense of an active quality cycle.
