Internal Management

Every company is organised by management structures. In the Internal Management profile area, we want to enable you to understand and organise these operational management structures. To this end, we will provide you with various methods - in particular from controlling, project and risk management. In addition to these central events, you will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with operational structures in various fields of application (e.g. in established and young companies as well as (public) healthcare institutions). This will qualify you for numerous career opportunities.

Course content

Shaping corporate success internally

What is it about? In the Internal Management profile area, you will acquire the theoretical and practical foundations for the quantitatively orientated design of operational management structures in various areas of application. You will gain a broad and well-founded knowledge of the tasks and methods of controlling as well as the planning tasks and planning instruments of project management. You will also gain an insight into the principles and methods of risk management. The organisation of personnel management and entrepreneurial action in established companies is also examined, as well as planning, management and control in health and social care facilities.

What is being researched? Research in the specialist areas involved in the profile area covers a wide range of topics: Controlling, entrepreneurship, healthcare, personnel management, application-orientated project management and risk management.

Why should you choose this profile area? In the Internal Management profile area, you will acquire basic and methodological knowledge of the planning, management and control of operational structures. Organising and developing these structures is always an interesting task and requires problem-solving skills. With our diverse range of seminars, we train this skill and prepare you for a broad spectrum of professional activities using current and exciting topics.

Sensible module combinations

There are two strategies for choosing your modules: Focusing on one area or developing broader skills. In principle, many other module combinations are possible so that you can design your personal profile according to your own interests.

Focusing

  • Project Management in combination with Controlling, Corporate Risk Management, Planning, Control & Management of Healthcare & Social Services Facilities and a Profile area
  • Controlling in combination with Project Management, Personnel Management, Corporate Entrepreneurship and a Profile area
  • Corporate Risk Management in combination with Controlling, Corporate Entrepreneurship, Project Management and  a Profile seminar

Building broader competencies

  • A combination of the modules offered above is suitable for this.

Please note: The Corporate Risk Management module will be canceled in summer semester 2024. Whether and if so, what alternative there will be, is currently still being planned.
