The research activities of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences concentrate on the classic areas of business and economic sciences. In social sciences, the focus is on communication science. With its interdisciplinary profile, the Faculty has a broad spectrum of research activities. These range from methodological and theoretical fundamental research to research that is focused on practical application. A particular focus is on trade and service management, health care management, public finance, and use of media.

Excellence and Interdisciplinarity as Strategic Goals

The strategic goal in research is to promote excellence, interdisciplinarity, and internationality. In intra- and interdisciplinary cooperative projects, our scientists work on substantial, excellent contributions to fundamental and applied scientific questions in national and international contexts.

The Faculty thereby places great importance on strategic alliances and international cooperation with universities and non-university research institutions, public supporters, and businesses.
