Focus areas

In addition to the general basic education, the Management degree program is characterized by the seven focus areas. Here you have the opportunity to choose one of the seven focus areas and specialize according to your personal interests. Within the focus area, you choose seven modules and two focus seminars to further deepen your knowledge according to your individual wishes. Accounting, Controlling & Taxation

In this focus area, you will gain an overview of the functions of controlling, the specific features and purposes of the controlling instruments and possible problems of their implementation. You will also gain insights into national and international corporate taxation, the influence of taxation on business decisions, and external accounting. You will learn the basics of national and international accounting and look at the company in all its financial sub-disciplines, which, together with the areas of controlling and taxation, will prepare you intensively for a career in management consulting or with leading companies in the region.

Finance

The Finance major provides comprehensive knowledge of financial issues in banks, corporate finance and capital markets. With this specialised knowledge, you are qualified for top positions in investment banking, asset management, M&A consulting, as a financial analyst or in corporate finance departments. The degree can also be the starting point for a job in financial market research at universities or central banks. In addition to the scientific analysis of events on the financial markets, we also offer insights into practice and the concepts and instruments required there. In this way, you are optimally prepared to act both strategically and operationally in the dynamic financial sector.

The Health Care & Public Management focus area is dedicated to the increasing need for interdisciplinary trained specialists and managers in the health and social services sector, which is being driven forward in view of demographic change, medical-technical progress and high regulatory density. This focus deals with diverse issues in the areas of health management, health economics, health insurance and e-health. In addition, the institute maintains cooperations with numerous (international) institutions and companies in the health sector. The acquired competencies prepare you optimally for challenging positions in the health and social care sector.
