Doctoral Study Program "Business Administration and Economics" (examination regulations 2014/2015)
Since the winter semester 2014/2015, the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences has offered a structured doctoral study program “Business Administration and Economics” with the two doctoral study courses “Economics” and “Management/Finance.” For information on the current doctoral study program please visit the program website “Business, Economics and Social Sciences" (examination regulations 2023).
Additional doctoral study program to the regular doctoral project
Participation in the doctoral study program requires acceptance as a doctoral candidate in the Faculty. For this, in particular the independent search for a supervisor, who in turn must be a member in one of the two doctoral study courses, is necessary.
Finally, acceptance in the doctoral study program can be requested. The application for acceptance is done in writing and can be submitted at any time.
The objective is to provide structural assistance in completing a dissertation in the context of achieving the degree “Dr. oec.” and is to convey current subject knowledge, abilities, and methods of business and economic science research and scientific work.
Particularities of the doctoral study program
- Courses especially for doctoral candidates convey in-depth subject knowledge, in particular in the area of methods.
- Supervision by a team made up of three scientists.
- Interim evaluation (after two years) by the advisory team on the progress of the education and doctorate.
- Signal for a research-oriented education and high-quality research contributions.
- The doctoral study program is designed such that it can be done in addition to working, e.g. in one of the Faculty’s departments.
- A certificate shows successful participation.
