A festive farewell for bachelor's and master's graduates of the WiSo faculty [02.07.25]
On Friday, 27 June 2025, the spotlight was on the graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences: both Bachelor's and Master's graduates were bid farewell in a festive setting. A total of around 1,000 guests – including graduates, their families and friends, as well as professors and staff from the faculty – attended the two events in the Audimax. The afternoon kicked off with the master's degree ceremony. Dean Prof. Dr. Jörg Schiller welcomed the graduates and praised their outstanding achievements. This was followed by the bachelor's degree ceremony, at which Dean of Studies Prof. Dr. Benjamin Jung bid farewell to the graduates and congratulated them on their successful completion of their studies.
Stephanie Fleischmann, board member of the Alumni Hohenheim e.V. association, gave a welcoming speech at both ceremonies. She also moderated the ceremonial presentation of congratulatory letters from the programme directors to the graduates.
A total of 218 Bachelor's and 145 Master's graduates were bid farewell.
A special moment of the event was the award ceremony for the best graduates. The prizes for outstanding achievements in the economics programmes were donated by Deloitte. Tobias Burk and Leon Wilhelm Weniger presented the awards on behalf of the company. The prizes for the communication science programmes were donated by the agency Communication Consultants, represented by managing director Alexander Praun.
The Hohenheim Credit Industry Colloquium was awarded the HMD Prize 2024 for its outstanding commitment as a student initiative that enriches campus life.
The celebration was organised and carried out by the Alumni Hohenheim e.V. association together with the WiSo faculty. Without the dedicated support of the association, a celebration of this kind would not have been possible – a heartfelt thank you for that!
Further thanks go to the Wildblech Trombone Quartet for the festive musical accompaniment, the student helpers for their active support, and the WiSo student council for their efforts at the champagne reception. The evening came to an atmospheric close in the Bio-Foyer – with champagne, finger food, and many pleasant conversations.
The WiSo faculty and ALUMNI HOHENHEIM e.V. congratulate all graduates and wish them all the best and every success for their future careers or further studies!
As Dean of Studies Prof. Dr Benjamin Jung emphasised in his speech: ‘Our graduates are entering a complex world with competence, responsibility and vision. That is exactly what tomorrow's economy and society need.’
