The event was organized by Prof. Dr. Sibylle Lehmann-Hasemeyer, President of the EHES, together with her team at the University of Hohenheim.

The conference highlighted the importance of historical perspectives in understanding today’s economic, social, and environmental challenges. Hohenheim proved to be the ideal venue for this exchange: founded in 1818 as a response to a severe famine, the University has a long tradition of combining scientific research with practical solutions to pressing problems.

Key highlights included the keynote lecture by Mary O’Sullivan, the presentation of the Gino Luzzatto finalists, a diverse social programme, the award ceremony, and the joint conference dinner.

We would like to thank all participants for the inspiring discussions and fruitful exchange that made this conference a great success!
