Top Ten again! More and more HR managers prefer graduate of Economics Sciences from the University of Hohenheim [26.06.14]
Studying with a job warranty: Graduates of Business Administration and Economics as well as Informatic Systems from the University of Hohenheim belong to the most popular in the republic, the Wirtschaftswoche reported in its latest issue. In both disciplines, German recruiters placed the University of Hohenheim seventh - two places better than in the previous year. The survey of the magazine confirmed the results of a graduate survey at the University of Hohenheim.Every year the Wirtschaftswoche carries out a survey seeking to find out, which universities and colleges train their students in subjects such as Economics, Engineering and Computer Sciences to best meet the needs of companies. 571 HR managers from all industries were questioned.
For years, the University of Hohenheim has always been among the top ten. The ranking covered both state and private universities. The first places were taken by the University of Mannheim in Business Studies and theTU Darmstadt in Informatic Systems.
The graduates found work relatively fast
The Wirtschaftswoche survey confirmed the results of a graduate survey at the University of Hohenheim, which was published late 2012. The results showed that graduates of Business Administration and Economics from the University of Hohenheim felt well prepared for the professional life and found work very quickly. Two out of five graduates find work immediately after college and the average job search lasts only three months.
1,200 graduates who completed their studies between 2006 and 2010 at the University of Hohenheim took part in the survey. A new graduate survey is currently being prepared.
Background: Economic Sciences at the University of Hohenheim
The University of Hohenheim offers three Bachelor's, five Master's degrees in the field of Economic Sciences and from the winter semester of 2014/15 a doctoral degree programme entitled "Economic Sciences".
The Bachelor's degree programme includes courses such as Informatic Systems and Economic Sciences with optional profile in Economics or Vocational and Business Studies. The Master's programme offers courses in Economics, International Business and Economics, Management, Informatic Systems and Education for Business and Economics.
The latest and special programmes are the new Doctoral degree programme and the Master's programme in Bioeconomy. The latter is offered in collaboration between the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
There are currently about 5.343 students (as of 17.12.2013) enrolled at the University of Hohenheim in Economic Sciences. Thus, more than every second student at the University of Hohenheim is taking an Economic Science degree.
