Course Content

Opportunities and Risks of Globalization

What’s it all about? In the International Business and Economics (IBE) track, you’ll gain business management skills and economic knowledge. You’ll gain broad and in-depth knowledge of how international goods, financial, and labor markets function, as well as cross-border trade in technology. This knowledge serves as the foundation for business decisions in a globalized world. You’ll also enhance your language skills.

What research is being conducted? Faculty members in the IBE program conduct research on topics related to international trade, such as the effects of trade policy measures on corporate decisions, trade volumes, and real income; topics related to international macroeconomics, such as monetary policy, the structure of currency areas, and fiscal federalism; as well as the systemic foundations for corporate transformation processes with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

Why should you choose this specialization? Like the core component of the degree program, the IBE specialization takes an integrative approach by combining business and economic perspectives. With a selection of English-language modules and the required language module, this specialization has an international focus. It provides you with excellent preparation for careers in international companies and organizations or for pursuing an English-language master’s program in Germany or abroad.
