Research Activities

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences combines economics and the social sciences into an interdisciplinary program. Our researchers’ work ranges from theoretical and methodological foundations to practical applications. In the field of economics, the focus is on macroeconomics and business administration, while in the social sciences, the focus is on communication studies.

Research Report

In this research report, the faculty presents its most important research activities and findings. The report centers on three key themes, which are illustrated through selected professors, projects, and publications: Digital Transformation and Change, Sustainable Economy and Consumption and Inequality and Diversity.

By outlining the faculty’s strategic research goals and its approach to measuring research output and impact, the report provides insights into the underlying rationale and explains which research data are considered as quantitative metrics and qualitative indicators.

This first research report presents, among other things, data on external funding, publications, and the faculty’s multi- and interdisciplinary research projects through 2024. It also highlights selected achievements by high-performing researchers in the early stages of their careers.

Our goal is to promote societal progress and stimulate economic and social change. We are open to dialogue and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders from academia, business, and society. If this research report inspires you to get in touch with us, we would be delighted. Together, we can then develop innovative solutions to current and future challenges.
