Important Basics for Your Studies

Academic Documents

Which modules do I need to take during my studies? Which modules are required electives? Are there deadlines during my studies?

You’ll find the answers to these questions in the examination regulations and the course catalog - two important documents that will help you stay on top of your studies.

The examination regulations contain all legal provisions regarding exams. In the module catalog, you’ll find all the modules you must or may take during your studies. Be sure to read through everything at the start of your studies so you’re fully informed about your options. This is your tool for planning your studies from the very beginning.

Organisation of Studies

When are my classes? When are the exams?

Here are your guides:

  • Create your own personal class schedule.
  • In the course catalog, you’ll find all the courses for the current semester.
  • In HohCampus, you can manage your studies, such as re-registering for your study program and signing up for exams.
  • In ILIAS, you can access course content and materials.

Supplementary Course Offerings

During your studies, you can participate in a wide variety of programs and courses that will help you learn new skills, explore your interests more deeply, and gain valuable experience. In addition to the regular curriculum, our university offers numerous opportunities to enrich your time as a student.

To Supplementary Course Offerings

Two configurations with many options

During your studies, you have two tracks to choose from: the Business Administration or the Focus on Schools track. Which track you choose depends on your own preferences and, above all, on your prior qualifications from your bachelor’s degree. Important: Both tracks qualify you for admission to the preparatory service for a career as a secondary school teacher at vocational schools in Baden-Württemberg! If you plan to pursue the preparatory service after completing your master’s degree, you must be able to demonstrate a total of 42 weeks of internships.

Theses

For your thesis, you’ll need a supervisor. You can find one by contacting the department in which you’d like to write your thesis. Here you’ll find all the information about the application process for the master’s thesis at the Wipäd departments. To write your master’s thesis in your second major (HRM / secondary school subjects), please contact the respective departments or advisors directly. Please note, however, that in this case, your master’s thesis must have an educational focus (see Study Regulations). You can find more information about the thesis on the Examination Office’s website.
